About

Hi.

I'm Cyril Souchon, and this is my blog telling stories about, oh ~ what I think and how I feel on things that're interesting to me by way of . . .

Story telling. I come from a family who seem to throw up a story teller every generation, even if it sometimes hops DNAs!! My gran on my dad's side for instance she was a marvellous story teller, never could say a thing without spinning a story around it, and my word they do still stick! And my entirely unrelated mom too, so go figure. Maybe it's true in your families too? Anyway I always seemed to be the one in my generation and that's in the DNA here.

Yes, it's very much that urge to tell stories that brings me here, and if you enjoy what you read, then it's a win for you too.

Content what will you find when you read on? Well, it's got "musings" in the title, so that's a major source, often from the stories my gran and mom told, and then naturally reflections I've had on stuff I've seen, learned and observed and then spun stories around.

Poetry ah, poetry! ~ although I'd hardly call myself a poet! sometimes it just feels so much easier to bring a thought or emotion to life that way. And I talk a bit about poets whose words mean something to me, and always, always, why.

Images I've tried to find images which will help you to visualise what I'm trying to say. Good stories are told with the whole body, and especially the hands! so the images must stand in their stead.

Finding Content there are a number of different ways you can find content. In the sidebar, Labels and trad blog archive, of course. Up in the main tabs, an Archive, natch in descending date order. The poetry has it's own index page "Doggerels or verse". An index of all posts in alphabetical order with an overarching category/tag. And finally a list of Posts which I've called  "Life Lessons" but which is really just my musings listed alphabetically under appropriate headings.

Framework and background most of my work has been in the worlds of business and public work: management and programme consulting. That's where I've plied my trade, and I have to say I've loved it. I was schooled in what used to be called a "classical education": Philosophy, History, Literature Art and the Arts generally played a large part in that. These are the background on which I have built my life, so for better or for worse you will find it here too. I hope it resonates with you ~ it must do, if you are to stay interested and engaged.

Finally, if you have topics which you'd like me to give a point of view on, let me know in the comments section. I'll give it due consideration!

Enjoy.
ps. I also have a work related blog which charts some thoughts and lessons that I have from my working life. Feel free to hop over there and see if there's anything there for you, too.

disclaimer
It's never my intention here to expect you to take advice or in any way make changes to your life or those around you. These are my experiences, my lessons, my resolutions, my approaches. It's great that some of these will resonate with you, I'm sure in many other cases you'll feel differently. If you think some of these thoughts would work for you, then by all means try. I don't recommend though that you do. My contexts are not yours, and might not map into your life. So exercise caution, and as in everything in life, think things through accordingly.
